Latest Updates from Our Project:

Slight Delay on Backer Surveys
about 3 years ago – Fri, Apr 16, 2021 at 11:47:07 PM

As is I'm sure a rite of passage of reward fulfillment for anyone managing a Kickstarter campaign, I've just hit our first snag, but it's fortunately very minor! BackerKit requires an eyes-on project and preparation review before allowing surveys to be sent out. I underestimated the length of the review process, but surveys are still planned to be delivered this weekend, with Monday at the latest.

So sorry for the confusion and mix-up resulting from my overwhelming confidence of the update from yesterday! This will also have no impact on the timeline of overall reward fulfillment whatsoever. Additionally, there's going to be a massive update to the fulfillment roadmap next week with a ton of steps completed or progressed significantly!

Thanks for your patience everyone!

Backer surveys are going out TOMORROW! Important things to know!
about 3 years ago – Fri, Apr 16, 2021 at 11:28:58 AM

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give a heads up that with it being two weeks since the campaign ended, all pledge collecting and processing is finished! This means that it's nearly time for surveys! And this also means that there's some important factors to consider so everyone is on the same page:

1. While I previously mentioned that backers wouldn't have to worry about BackerKit, I have decided to conduct the reward surveys through BackerKit instead of Kickstarter directly. This won't functionally change anything for backers, so once you receive your survey email feel free to answer it according it to the directions! As for me, BackerKit is a lot friendlier and more detailed in its systems and UI, so handling rewards and fulfillment will be a lot smoother on my end compared to using Kickstarter's interface.

2. That said, when I previously mentioned that backers can safely "ignore add-ons/pre-orders" associated with BackerKit, that remains! The survey will include options for add-ons, but those are visible since they're available on the pre-order storefront for folks who missed out on the campaign. If you're a backer answering your reward survey, do not worry about the add-ons in the survey. Doing so ensures you're not paying anything else after your established Kickstarter pledge.

In short, when you see this screen, just hit NEXT!

3. Depending on your pledge tier, you may be receiving multiple survey questions to ask. I've decided to include the survey questions here in this post so everyone can have a look at them beforehand. Please be sure to message me about any confusion or questions you have, and be certain about WHICH survey questions you're going to be answering so if any complications occur we can get them sorted out ASAP.

4.  If you're a backer in a pledge tier including the Signed Dedication, you will have until Saturday, May 15th to submit the name through the BackerKit survey. Since this reward is tied explicitly to the printing of the books, this is a HARD date, so don't procrastinate!

So, here are the survey questions backers can expect, and if you're in the $130 pledge tier, you should be getting all three questions in your survey. Note that the questions being shown in this post are only for your convenience and verification purposes, so you can be adequately prepared to answer the survey questions. I am more than happy to answer or clarify any questions you have, but please DO NOT leave a comment on this update, or answer me directly, with your survey answers.

This question will appear for all SHIPPED, physical pledge tiers including a printed 1st Edition book:

- Choose Cover for Lordran & Beyond 1st Edition Trade Paperback (choice between Creighton Cover or Djura Cover)

This question will appear for all pledge tiers including the Signed Dedications:

As part of the Signed Dedication reward, which name would you like printed inside the 1st Edition book? Please note the name you provide will be included inside ALL printed and PDF versions of L&B 1st Edition, so be sure to answer it EXACTLY as you would like it to appear.

If you would like the signature to be styled as a summon sign, be sure to mention how you would like it to appear: pale/white for standard, golden for Warrior of Sunlight, red for Darkwraith/invader, or purple for Mound-Maker. If there is no specification for signature style, it will NOT be displayed as a summon sign.

Other important factors: If you would like to include an alias or online username, please keep it appropriate. If you would like to include someone else's name or online handle as a dedication, please ensure you have their consent or utmost confidence that they would approve of being mentioned in the book. You will have until SATURDAY, MAY 15th TO SUBMIT THE NAME YOU WISH TO BE INCLUDED AS A SIGNED DEDICATION. Follow this link for an example of signatures with the Sunlight and Invader styles: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1i4gaUjGoqoWCyexPj_PAK4TH2znLxk2a/view?usp=sharing

This question will appear for all pledge tiers including the custom art portrait:

What would you like as your custom art reward? The portrait you request will be drawn by Veitstanz, of a single character, and in color. Please be specific about the pose or action of the character, and details you would like to include such as injuries, blood, etc.

If you're requesting a portrait of an existing Soulsborne characters, references are not necessary. If you would like a portrait of a custom Soulsborne player character (such as your Chosen Undead or Good Hunter), please provide a link to reference images and names of the gear they wear. If you're requesting a portrait of an original character or a character from non-Soulsborne fiction, please provide a link to references images of the character. Also, while the portrait can contain violence/blood, please ensure the prompt is SFW.

Along with the details, you can mention whether you're alright with the portrait being posted publicly, such as via Kickstarter updates or via Veitstanz on her personal art accounts. You can view a sample portrait here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1FPICqOT-D8DPQGyCj5M3GwLtE2uIDp2E/view?usp=sharing

I know this is a hefty update, but there's a LOT of important information in here. If anything is unclear, or seems to be missing, be sure to let me know! Thanks for your time everyone, and I hope you all have a great weekend!

Preview for the final cover arts!
about 3 years ago – Wed, Apr 14, 2021 at 09:39:22 PM

Here's a look at the final designs of each cover for L&B 1st Edition! I settled on a more fitting font for the title compared to the example mock up shown off during the start of the campaign. I hope everyone likes what they see! Also, be sure to decide on your favorite since backers getting a physical book will choose which cover they prefer!

Status Update: color tuning and page formatting almost wrapped + variant cover finished!
about 3 years ago – Mon, Apr 12, 2021 at 07:48:35 PM

Hey all! Just wanted to offer a quick status update to start off the work week; Veit has finished up the watercolor Djura variant cover, and the presentation tweaking/editing on the pages is nearly finished as well. Once the pledges are done processing/collecting later this week, things will start to move a LOT more quickly! Backers getting signatures dedications or custom artwork should expect surveys sent by this weekend. Also, early next week a lot of pledge and funding tier specific rewards will be ordered, including the poster prints, sticker sheets, and enamel pins!

Spotlight for Other Kickstarter Projects!
about 3 years ago – Wed, Apr 07, 2021 at 03:11:51 PM

While pledges are processing and I'm doing some tweaks and color tuning for the L&B 1st Edition pages, I wanted to give a shout out to some other on-going and recent graphic novel/comic Kickstarter projects that caught my eye!

Tavern of Dreams - A Luminous Ages Tale

Tavern of Dreams is a beautifully illustrated hardcover novel that is often described as "Night at the Museum" meets "Lord of the Rings". This novel takes you on a journey as you delve deep into the mysteries that haunt the quaint and friendly Grumpy Lion Tavern.

The story takes place at the Grumpy Lion Tavern and is the second book in the Luminous Ages series, following on after the events of the first graphic novel in the Luminous Ages series. However, while we do catch up with the characters from the first book, it can also be read as a stand alone book in the style of Terry Pratchett's Discworld. The focus is on the marvelous tavern they stay in and the mystery that is haunting it.

This makes it a good stand alone story for people looking for a bit of mystery in their fantasy, because this tavern is no ordinary tavern. Magical things happen at night when everyone sleeps hence the name "Tavern of Dreams".

THE JUMP (1 & 2)

THE JUMP is a kick-you-in-the tenth paranoid thriller set in the world of astral projection. It’s INCEPTION meets THE BOURNE IDENTITY if it were dripping with macabre and directed by David Fincher.

It’s brought you by the same twisted team that produced Action Lab: Danger Zone's much-lauded superhero noir BANJAX. It made over a dozen critics ten best lists in 2019 and was nominated for FOUR Mike Wieringo Comic Book Industry Awards including BEST SERIES (alongside BITTER ROOT and SOMETHING’S KILLING THE CHILDREN).

Writer Rylend Grant has worked for 15+ years in Hollywood, developing film and television projects - mostly big, poppy action movies - with folks like JJ Abrams, Ridley Scott, John Woo, Luc Beson, and Justin Lin.

Quindrie Press: 2021

This campaign has actually already ended, but I've worked with Ver personally and they're a fantastic artist who's included in this collection. This compilation is still available for pre-order even though the Kickstarter has ended, so definitely check it out!

A cursed suit of armour and the knight who dons it; a lovestruck student desperate to impress the professor's daughter; a young girl tasked with caring for a terrible beast; a witch working to turn the moon into a new home for humanity...

Four fantastical stories from four of Scotland's most exciting creators, published by brand new comics publisher Quindrie Press! Each book is a compact 127x191mm - standard manga size - and is available to buy separately or as a bundle at a discount.
